Understanding Umpires: For the Spectator

In the LBSC’s ongoing commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment for our youth athletes and officials, we kindly remind all spectators to refrain from yelling or engaging in disruptive behavior during games.

Youth sports are not only about competition but also about instilling values such as sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork. It is essential that we collectively contribute to creating an atmosphere where players can focus on enjoying the game, developing their skills, and building positive relationships.

This includes refraining from yelling at players, coaches, or umpires. Let's remember that:

  • These are KIDS.
  • This is a GAME.
  • Coaches are VOLUNTEERS.
  • Umpires are HUMAN.
  • Your child is NOT being scouted by the MLB today.

Negative comments or disruptive behavior can have a lasting impact on the experience for everyone involved.

We appreciate your cooperation in upholding the principles of fair play and encouraging a culture of respect within our organization. Together, we can ensure that our youth sports events remain enjoyable and constructive for all participants.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
